It’s a wrap. The 2020 GOTV campaign that was created and coordinated by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Lansing Alumnae Chapter has ended. We did our best to inspire people to exercise their right to vote by releasing informative videos, participating in a television interview, sharing “Why I Vote” testimonials, disseminating flyers with Voting Rights facts, participating in the City-sponsored Trunk or Treat event at a ballot drop-off site, and sharing “Vote” T-shirts with Deltas and church partners to promote the vote.
With pearls adorning our necks and “chucks” on the ground, we joined Sisters and Friends throughout the nation to ensure that our voices – and the voices of people who live in our communities – are heard.
Many thanks to Sorors, Friends – and our amazing partners: AARP Michigan, Lansing City Clerk, Black Voters Matter and 12 Lansing area churches!
Now, we await the results, with interest and hope. We belong in the midst of key decisions being made about the leaders of our country, states, cities and beyond. We, too, sing America.
